Sustainability Report

The Environmental Pollution course provides a comprehensive understanding of pollution sources, effects, and control measures, focusing on mitigation strategies that align with climate action objectives. Students learn about pollution’s impact on human health and ecosystems and examine regulatory frameworks and technological solutions for prevention. The Green Campus Management course prepares students to design and implement sustainable practices on campus, including resource conservation, renewable energy initiatives, and waste reduction. Similarly, Environmental Physics enables students to understand environmental phenomena through physics principles, giving them the tools to analyze and address climate dynamics directly. Population and Environment addresses the complex relationship between population dynamics and ecosystem health, highlighting sustainability strategies to manage resources effectively. Meanwhile, Environmental Statistics focuses on data analysis in ecology, teaching students to make informed, evidence-based decisions in environmental management, which is crucial for climate resilience efforts. Finally, Digital Electronics promotes the design of energy-efficient digital systems, encouraging environmentally friendly technological development and contributing to the broader climate action framework.

By adopting the ISO 14001:2015 standard, the university commits to continuous improvement in environmental performance, including energy conservation, waste management, and efficient resource use. This aligns directly with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13, “Climate Action,” as it involves systematic efforts to reduce carbon emissions, promote sustainable practices, and mitigate the effects of climate change.

Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung is actively engaged in measuring its carbon footprint as part of its commitment to tackle the Climate Action. By calculating emissions generated from various campus activities, such as energy consumption, transportation, and waste, the university aims to understand its environmental impact and identify opportunities for reduction. This effort is a critical step in developing sustainable practices that minimize carbon emissions, fostering a low-carbon campus environment. With electricity usage as a major emission source, the campus can make impactful changes by transitioning to renewable energy.
