Sustainability Report

In alignment with the global commitment to ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages, several courses offered at UIN Raden Intan Lampung are directly contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3).

The Microbiology course, for example, delves into the intricate world of microorganisms, providing students with essential insights into their roles in both human health and industry. Similarly, the Parasitology course addresses the study of parasitic organisms, their life cycles, and the significant impact they have on human and animal health.

Courses such as Anatomy and Physiology of the Human Body and Histology are integral to understanding the complex structures and functions of the human body. These courses provide students with a comprehensive understanding of how the body works at both the macroscopic and microscopic levels. The Immunology course offers an in-depth exploration of the immune system and its crucial role in defending against infectious diseases.

Mental health is also a key focus area, as highlighted by the Mental Health course. This course addresses the complexities of mental health issues, providing students with the knowledge and tools to advocate for and contribute to mental health initiatives. For younger populations, courses like Child Health and Nutrition and Health and Nutrition of Early Childhood are critical. These courses focus on the nutritional and health needs of children, aiming to reduce child mortality and malnutrition.

The inauguration of new clinic, established with the support of the Bandar Lampung city government, is strategically positioned to provide accessible healthcare services not only to the university’s academic community but also to the surrounding local population. By enhancing healthcare accessibility, the Klinik Pratama directly contributes to SDG 3 by addressing the healthcare needs of both students and the local community, thereby promoting overall well-being.

Moreover, the commitment from the city government to further develop the clinic into a full-fledged hospital with substantial funding support underscores a long-term investment in healthcare infrastructure.

The provision of an ambulance enhances the operational capabilities of Klinik Pratama, allowing it to respond more effectively to health emergencies and provide timely medical care not only to the university’s academic community but also to the surrounding local population. This directly supports SDG 3 by improving access to essential healthcare services, which is critical for reducing mortality rates and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their socio-economic status, can receive the medical attention they need.
