Sustainability Report

One such course is Environmental Physics, where students gain a profound understanding of the physical principles that govern natural environments, including the critical study of energy systems. The university also offers a course on Recycling Technology, which, while primarily focused on waste management, also covers sustainable practices that intersect with energy conservation and efficiency.

More directly aligned with SDG 7 is the Waste Management and Renewable Energy Management course. This course delves into sustainable waste management practices while also exploring renewable energy solutions, such as solar and wind power. In the realm of urban development, the Green and Smart City Management course plays a pivotal role. This course teaches students how to design and manage urban areas with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.

The integration of energy-efficient practices in the digital world is covered in the Green Computing course. This course emphasizes the importance of reducing energy consumption in IT systems, aligning with SDG 7 by promoting environmentally responsible practices in the design, operation, and management of computing technologies.

Total Renewable Energy/ Electricity usage in 2023 x 100%

Ratio = 37.848/1.840.304 x 100% = 2,05 %

The recent World Environment Day (WED) 2023 seminar hosted by the campus, with a focus on “Climate Change Action: Accelerating Renewable Energy for a Sustainable Future,” is a significant step towards advancing the goals of Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG 7), which seeks to ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all.

During the seminar, the campus are reaffirmed its commitment to energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy on campus, aligning directly with the objectives of SDG 7. The university’s initiative to incorporate solar energy, with the installation of two solar panels at its dormitories and mosque, exemplifies its dedication to reducing reliance on fossil fuels and promoting clean energy sources. This effort not only contributes to lowering carbon emissions but also sets a precedent for other institutions to follow in integrating renewable energy solutions.
